We recommend you explore our class descriptions online before attending, or you can simply drop in and register for a session. For those new to yoga, we recommend a fundamental class.
We encourage students to arrive at least 15 minutes in advance of start time, and to wear comfortable clothing that will stretch and allow movement without binding. We also ask that students turn off cell phones before entering the studio.
We will have you fill out a brief registration form, and then help you get set up for your first class. We have mats, but encourage you to bring your own.
Feel free to ask any questions, and know that we will offer modifications and props (blankets, bolsters, blocks, etc.) to ensure you enjoy a safe, comfortable, relaxing experience.
What to Expect During Class
Himalayan tradition employs sanskrit to identify yoga poses and amplify aspects of yoga philosophy. Classes begin with a centering period to relax the mind and establish breathing. Instruction commences by warming up the muscles with stretching and then moving into a series of asanas, or yoga poses. Class ends with a guided relaxation, which may be followed by a brief meditation.
